Quite often, the decision roll-out Scrum or other agile frameworks starts with the IT departments, with the stated objective of achieving greater efficiency, higher quality, and increasing release frequency. All too often, however, other departments lag behind and continue their "business as usual" processes using the legacy Waterfall methodology. Under these conditions, leadership still has the need to perform resource planning, forecast project completion and return on investment, and find it necessary to report progress to steering committees, finance officers, or others. The challenge is: how do help Leadership understand how Agile works, what metrics are used to forecast project completion and progress, manage scope creep and other vital metrics, and ensure that the right product is delivered on time and on budget?
